Are you looking for new sponsors for your 2022 season?

Sponsorship can be a tricky aspect of club management for most clubs. But with some considered planning you’ll be ready to walk into that proposal with all the confidence in the world!

Here are some top tricks to help you nail it:

1. Have you met the person you’ll be conducting the sponsorship proposal to before? Getting to know the potential sponsor before your proposal meeting can be a good way to identify unique areas and avenues for support in both directions. Additionally, relationship building is a key component in sponsorship proposals, so make every effort you can.

2. Establish why the club needs sponsors and have a prepared response to why this sponsor will assist your club. How will the sponsorship assist to provide opportunities for the community?

3. How will your sponsorship work? What can you offer your sponsors?

Make sure you have a pre-packaged format or a list of options ready to present at all times. Or you could even go above and beyond by coming up with unique ideas for each potential sponsor that aligns with their company. For example, a corporate office is sponsoring a sports club financially. In return the sports club provides the corporate employees with movement workshops to improve mobility and flexibility.

4. Make a club sponsorship resume that is ready to hand out to businesses that may be interested!

This can be a 2-page document that highlights the positive features of your club and how you help your community that aims to entice a sponsor into wanting to work with you. The more visually pleasing, the better.
